My Top 10 Walt Disney World Photos

Ride at Animal Kingdom

Hi, my name is Rob and I love taking photos at the Walt Disney World Resort. I do this as a hobby through my website WDWLive.com.

I don’t actually take many photos in my regular daily life, but when I am at Walt Disney World, something comes over me. With the 4 main theme parks, 2 water parks, 34 resorts, Downtown Disney and other various attractions, I am just drawn to the huge amount of amazing photo opportunities available!

FloridaTix asked if I would like to share some of my photos on this blog – and of course I said yes! – so here are 10 of my favorite photos from Walt Disney World.

1. Cinderella Castle

No Walt Disney World photo collection would be complete without a shot of Cinderella Castle. What I love most about this shot however is the contrast between the blue sky and the green foliage. The sun was also in a great position to really bring out the various colors.

2. Spaceship Earth

Probably the second most recognizable structure at Walt Disney World is Spaceship Earth at Epcot. As with the previous Castle picture, I think the sun was perfectly placed to capture this photo and provided perfect lighting against the baby blue sky.

3. Tree of Life

Are you seeing a pattern yet? Although I love taking unusual photographs, I also cannot help capturing the main park icons. It is difficult to talk about park icons without mentioning Animal Kingdoms Tree of Life. At 44 m (145 feet) tall, this artificial tree simply cannot be missed! This photo was taken from the bongo drum area as you enter Africa.

4. The Sorcerer’s Hat

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a bit different than the other parks. Its current park icon was added to the park 12 years after opening! Nonetheless, The Sorcerer’s Hat is a sight to behold and offers great photo opportunities day and night from all around the Hollywood Boulevard plaza.

5. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Sticking with Disney’s Hollywood Studios, here is one of my all-time favorite photographs. This features the silhouette of the Tower of Terror against an incredible yellow sky as the sun sets on the theme park.

6. Mickey and Minnie Mouse

There are a lot of character photo opportunities around Walt Disney World. I especially love trying to get good pictures of characters in the various shows and parades. This is a photo of Mickey and Minnie in the Dream Along With Mickey stage show. I just love this photo as I feel Mickey is looking right at me!

7. Monorail

Epcot is the only Walt Disney World theme park that has a Monorail actually passing through it. This makes for some awesome pictures. Here is the green Monorail with the Imagination Pavilion in the background.

8. Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain

One of top thrill rides at the Animal Kingdom theme park is Expedition Everest. This attraction can be seen from many great photo spots around Asia and Discovery Island. Here you see riders ascend the mountain as they happily wave to their families below. I guess they do not realize they are about to meet the Yeti!!

9. Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show

If you like action and fast driving cars then the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was made for you. This is a photo of the final scene as the red hero car jumps through a wall of fire!

10. World Showcase Lagoon

Blue skies make for great photos. But sunsets can really create magic! Here is one of my favorite photos featuring a beautiful orange sunset over Epcot’s World Showcase Lagoon. This photo also allows you to see the main Soarin’ building behind Canada’s Hotel du Canada.
